Urban Architecture in Amsterdam

Nouns can be accompanied by articles, which in Dutch can convey two kinds of information about the noun: (a) the noun’s gender, and (b) whether the noun is used definitely or idefinitely. English does not have different genders, so in English articles only distinguish between definite (the) and indefinite (a or an).

Go to the Curriculum tab to read more about definite and indefinite articles in Dutch. There is also an exercise.
