There are many prepositions in Dutch. In the first place they usually occur in front of a noun or a noun group (hence the name: voorzetsel, something that has been put in front). However, there are also different uses and they play an important role in other areas of Dutch grammar. In this course you will learn about:

  • some of the characteristics of prepositions
  • prepositions and separable verbs
  • prepositions and phrasal verbs
  • prepositions occurring after the noun (group) they belong to (so-called postpositions)

There is also an exercise with prepositions.
